On October 28 - 30 we have our third Wow Korea Trip to Jeollanam do area. Unfortunately, I cannot join on first day because I have to attend an event at school. So I joined them from second day and on that day we went to Gwangju. We were divided into three group and our group got a chance to visit Naejangsan National Park, which is popular for its autumn view.

Address: Naejang-dong, Jeongeup-si, Jeollabuk-do

The park is 76,032 sq. km. in size. The name Naejang means 'many secrets' in the mountain. Because of the bright crimson leaves that blanket Naejangsan Mountain’s fall scenery, the mountain is also referred to as "Geumgangsan of Honam." Inside the park, there are famous waterfalls, such as Dodeok Falls and Geumseon Falls, and temples such as Baekyangsa and Naejangsa temples. If you follow the valley left of the ticket booth, you can see the waters of Dodeok Falls, cascading down the cliff. If you go further along the valley you can see the waters Geumseon Falls where even the gods have supposedly bathed. Baekyangsa Temple is both majestic and serene, surrounded by Gulgeori trees that retain their lush green leaves even in winter, and also the Bija trees. Along with Baekyangsa Temple, the Naejangsa Temple is the place to visit during the fall for its lovely autumn leaves. Besides these, there are about 760 kinds of local plants, designated Natural Monuments, and various wild animals living inside Mt. Naejangsan Park. The Park is beautiful not only in the fall, but also in the spring when the azaleas and cherry blossoms bloom, in the summer when the green mountain turns greener, and the winter when the rock cliffs cover themselves with snow. All throughout the year, different kinds of wild flowers bloom here.

This place is also popular for people who like to go hiking

This is the picture collection of our lovely Wow Korea member and also our managers:)
This picture below is one of the beautiful road that we can see here. It is kind of hard to take picture here since a lot of cars passed by. But luckily, I managed to get this one:)

Once you get to the temple and make your way back down to the visitors centre, you can catch a shuttle bus back down to the entrance (W1000 per person) or you can walk the 1.5km back down.

Directions [Bus] From Central City Terminal (Honam Line), take a bus to Jeongeup Intercity Bus Terminal. Take Bus No. 171 and get off at Service Area.Naejangsan Bus Terminal (휴게소.버스터미널) Bus Stop.
or
You can catch a local city bus from the Jeongeup bus station. The bus leaves from right outside the CU Convenience store (not from the usual bus platform inside the bus terminal) which is right next door to the bus terminal. If you get lost just pop into the CU and ask for the bus to Naejangsan.
The bus ride is about 40 minutes long and you'll get dropped at the parking lots at the base of the park. From there it's about a 25 minute walk to the entrance to the National Park. There is a small (W3 000) entrance fee...make sure to bring cash as they don't accept cards.
If you have planned to go here, I recommend you to go on weekdays and go early in the morning since a lot of people come to visit this national park. Happy travelling:)
